Winter was drawing close...Molly could feel it in the air when she stepped outside that evening just when the sun was going down. Even with a couple layers on it was still frigid. Of course that could be due to the fact that she could never afford the most expensive robes and wasn't the 'well-rounded' woman she would someday become.
She managed to sneak out of the castle without anyone catching her and ran as fast as her legs would carry her down to the lake. She knew that the moon would be bright tonight and with the freshly fallen snow on the treetops the moonlight would look gorgeous splayed against the scenery around the castle.
As quietly as she could she made her way down towards the embankment where she would lay down her overcoat and have a seat against the edge of a tree casting her dark eyes skyward the stars reflected in her gaze and a smile came across her face.
She and Arthur had recently made up and she felt much more like herself lately.
As if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders she took a deep breath just then, closing her eyes and breathing out slowly.
"What a beautiful night..." she sighed keeping her eyes closed and just enjoying the feel of her surroundings and the silence that even if momentary was blissful.
